Kathe P. Fox, PhD has more than 30 years’ experience in healthcare Informatics with a particular emphasis on chronic disease epidemiology, research methods and evaluation, and big data and data integration. Recently retired from Aetna, Kathe is currently devoting her energies to service in support of public health and emerging technology companies that are grounded in healthcare data and insights. She is the President of the Association of Yale Alumni in Public Health and a member of the Board of the Health Care Cost Institute.At Aetna Kathe was a member of the Analytics and Behavior Change organization where she led the Informatics activities that support Plan Sponsor analyses and tools. Recently Kathe led the design and assessment of provider and network services including the assessment and monitoring of Aetna’s Joint Venture partners. Kathe also helped manage data governance for external release of Aetna data for research. In 2016 Kathe won the Aetna Innovator of the Year Award and the Aetna Chairman’s Award for her Health/Wealth product idea.Over the last six years Kathe has worked closely with the Harvard Medical School, specifically the Departments of Biomedical Informatics and Health Policy, and encouraged and supported the growth of clinical and policy research using health insurance claims data. Harvard and Aetna built a multi-year data enclave that offers claims experience on 70+ M members over ten years. Researchers have used these data to investigate questions ranging from the efficacy of preventive screening to the inheritability of autism. These data, and the associated analytic techniques, have been introduced to medical students as part of their training.Prior to joining Aetna, Kathe was Vice President and Practice Leader for Health Plan customers at Medstat (now IBM Health) where she was responsible for analytic and consulting solutions for the managed care market. She also led a number of federal contracts including the CMS Medicaid Encounter Data Quality and Performance Measurement project and an AHRQ Medical Errors Reporting Implementation Plan.Kathe holds a Ph.D. from Yale University (Department of Epidemiology and Public Health) and a B.A. in History from Skidmore College. From 1985 – 87 she was a Robert Wood Johnson Faculty Fellow in Healthcare Finance at Johns Hopkins. She is a Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Informatics, Harvard Medical School, and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of axialhealthcare.

Shazia Khawaja is an Associate Principal Scientist in the department of Epidemiology at Merck, Sharpe & Dohme Corp., located in Upper Gwynedd, PA. She received her B.A. in Biology from Lehigh University in 1998 and M.P.H. in Chronic Disease Epidemiology from Yale in 2004. Upon graduation, Shazia joined Merck as an Epidemiology Program Coordinator, assisting with executing primary data collection studies, developing patient reported outcomes and representing Epidemiology on cross functional teams. Currently, she is in a management position and her main responsibilities include supervising employees, coordinating epidemiology studies and leading strategic initiatives. During her time at Merck, she obtained her Six Sigma Green Belt and has received 12 awards for her contribution on various projects. In addition, she published articles including those on the RotaTeq® Nicaragua Partnership and vaccine report card.

Linda Bergonzi-King holds a master of public health degree from the Yale School of Public Health.  In 1990, Ms. Bergonzi-King founded TriBella Productions, a health communication company which provides consultation in health communication, project management, epidemiological research and study coordination. She has 25 years of experience in the field of health communication, including producing, directing and editing videos for health agencies. Among many productions, TriBella produced an informative video series highlighting the many professional services and centers within the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System, a series for Connecticut Hospice and training videos for the Yale Child Study Center, Essentials of Literacy Program and the Yale School of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine. Linda has a strong background in communicating to a very diverse population. She has made it a career goal to reach many citizens of all cultures and uses techniques in video production and instructional design to communicate health promotion concepts to all. Ms. Bergonzi-King has also taught public health communication courses at the Yale School of Public Health, Sacred Heart University and Hill Regional Career High School in New Haven, CT. She also serves as a mentor to a high school public health class at Metropolitan Business Academy. In addition, she has worked at the Yale School of Public Health, Center for Perinatal, Pediatric & Environmental Epidemiology where she assisted in research for the National Children’s Study. This multi-year research study examined the effects of environmental influences on the health and development of more than 100,000 children across the United States. In her role as a Senior Associate at the Yale New Haven Health System, Center for Healthcare Solutions, Ms. Bergonzi-King was responsible for the design and development of both online and instructor-led courses, with a specialty in video interface. She also organized educational workshops for health care staff throughout CT and served as Project Lead for two YNHHS-CHS subcontracts at the Yale School of Public Health and the New Haven Health Department.

Tassos Kyriakides, '96 M.Phil., '99 Ph.D., Yale School of Public Health, Associate Research Scientist.  Dr. Kyriakides collaborates with clinical researchers on numerous research projects and he provides statistical consulting on numerous research protocols. He has been an abstract mentor for young researchers at the International AIDS Conferences since 2012, leads the VACSPCC internship program and is a statistical reviewer for high-impact medical journals (Lancet Infectious Diseases and the Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology).  He is the Director at the Department of Veterans' Affairs Cooperative Studies Program (VACSPCC-West Haven) and has worked, as a Senior Biostatistician, on pivotal clinical trials (The OPTIMA Trial, a multi-national HIV/AIDS treatment clinical trial; a surgical clinical trial (The OVER Trial); and a PTSD clinical trial (The VIP-STAR Trial).  Even though his primary research focus is in the area of infectious diseases with particular emphasis on HIV/AIDS and its treatment, he has an interest in the history of medicine, social determinants of health and the socio-cultural dimension of the benefits of Greek/Mediterranean nutrition. He has recently been certified as an Olive Oil Sommelier by the International Culinary Center and the Olive Oil Education Lab in NY City.

Elaine Anderson was Director of Community, Alumni and Special Studies at the Yale School of Public Health until her retirement in 2007. Her office had responsibility for a number of functions including institutional research; the school’s reaccreditation; strategic planning; public health practice; alumni relations; continuing education and workforce development; and special projects. Her previous position at Yale was as Director of the Resource Center for Health Professions Development.A graduate of the Yale University School of Public Health, and the Institute for Social Policy Studies at the University of Michigan, her academic interests are in methodology/ research design in community-based studies.  She taught an applied community research course for MPH students at Yale for 25 years and still gives lectures on public health issues, primarily for the residential colleges. Her publications and professional presentations have been on topics related to minority health, gender issues in health care, workforce development, public health practice, and changing global values as they relate to health behaviors.

Currently, Susan Choy leads product strategy for Dropbox's business development team. Susan has had a variety of experiences in product, partnerships, and consulting across industries at Meta, Amazon, Deloitte, and UBS. She is interested in using tech to scale impact and unlock access to opportunities within communities. Susan is a graduate of the Healthcare Management Program and holds certificates in Regulatory Affairs; Global Health; and Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies. While at Yale, Susan was the student commencement speaker and co-chaired the YSPH Class Gift Committee, rallying the class around the "10 Days, 100 Donors" campaign. Susan is a proud Bostonian and holds a BS in Management from Boston College.

Darryl Crompton, '76 M.P.H., has had a distinguished career as a social justice and human rights advocate, lawyer, and academic. He has helped numerous non-profit, for-profit, and start-up organizations navigate challenging legal, business, and policy issues. He has served as a reliable and trusted lawyer and advisor to education officials, corporate leaders, and non-profit officials.Darryl served as Tuskegee University's first General Counsel, Vice President for Legal Affairs, and Vice President for Government Affairs. Earlier, Mr. Crompton was a professor of healthcare law at the University of Alabama in Birmingham for 13 years. Mr. Crompton has served as staff in the California State Senate, the California State Assembly, and the US House of Representatives. Crompton lectures frequently on various legal and policy issues, and has been active in numerous community, charity, and religious organizations, including Leadership Greater Washington.  A native of Los Angeles, California, he has degrees from Yale University, the University of California Davis School of Law, and the University of California, Los Angeles. He is currently serving a member of the Yale Alumni Association Executive Director’s DEI Working Group. He also serves as a member of the Southeastern Health Equity Council.  Specialties: Focus areas include: (1) Education Law; (2) Healthcare Policy & Infrastructure; (4) Global Health & International Education; (3) Ethics and Integrity; (4) Diversity & Inclusion and (5) Has spent a career working to improve access in education and healthcare.

Cheryl  Fattibene, '90 M.S.N., '90 M.P.H., National Nurse-Led Care Consortium, Family Nurse Practitioner.  Experienced Nurse Practitioner with a demonstrated history of working in both the for-profit and non-profit health care sectors as a provider and a clinical leader. Skilled in Disease Management, Primary Care, Operations Management, Team Based Care Models, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Public Speaking, and Acute Care. Doctoral Candidate with a focus in Nursing Leadership from Regis University.

Elyse Galloway is the current Vice President - Health; Lead - Multicultural Health Speciality at Edelman. Galloway is chiefly passionate about transforming public health & scientific insights into engaging programming that systemically and sustainably improves population health. Beginning her tenure at Edelman specializing in health crisis and issues, Elyse has transitioned to support a number of biopharmaceutical, health system, public health and consumer health clients and co-leads Edelman’s multicultural health specialty. With nearly a decade working within the public health world, Elyse has contributed to diverse initiatives spanning health equity, social impact, corporate reputation, regulatory affairs and brand. Appreciating the power of public-private partnerships, she works to leverage the competencies of diverse stakeholders to maximize reach and impact. Most recently, Elyse led Edelman’s ImmUNITY Chicago program, a behavioral science pilot program aimed at building vaccine confidence and immunization intention across diverse populations in Chicago. Previous to her time in public relations, Elyse worked within the non-profit and public sector world, contributing to Sesame Street in Communities Traumatic Experiences initiative and serving as the Special Assistant to the Director of Policy, Communications and Education at the National Human Genome Research Institute at the NIH.

Cory is from San Diego, California and received his undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon, studying Physiology & Chemistry. His time in Oregon gave him a life-long love of craft beer, black coffee, and long-distance running (mostly to work off the calories from the beer). He received his Master's of Public Health in Health Policy & Management from the Yale School of Public Health. He moved to Washington, D.C. in 2016 to work in healthcare consulting and attend George Mason's JD/MBA dual-degree program. Today he works as an antitrust attorney for the Federal Trade Commission, focusing on competition and consolidation in the healthcare industry.

Jackson Higginbottom, MPH, is a public health practitioner working at the intersection of behavior change, health communications, health program design, and evaluation. He is the Initiative Lead for the Yale Initiative for Strategic Health Communications at the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center and a Program Administrator at the Community Alliance for Research & Engagement (CARE) at the Yale School of Public Health. He also serves as a delegate for Yale GALA. In addition to his roles at Yale, Jackson is the President of Fundación Manos Juntas, a free medical clinic that provides care to over 3,000 patients in Oklahoma City.

Yuna Lee, ‘09 M.P.H., '17 Ph.D., Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Management.  Her research focuses on how health care organizations can foster creativity and innovation from clinicians, staff, and patients to promote better patient and employee experiences and improved performance. She has received national recognition for her work, including awards from the Academy of Management, AcademyHealth, Industry Studies Association, and Emerald Publishing. She is a member of the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) research team and a fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine.  At the Columbia Mailman School, Dr. Lee teaches Managerial and Organizational Behavior to graduate students and executives in the Master of Health Administration program. She is the inaugural recipient of the School's Judson Wolfe Excellence in Teaching Award.  Dr. Lee holds a MPH in Healthcare Management and a PhD in Health Policy and Management, with a concentration in Organizational Theory and Management, both from Yale University. Prior to academia, she managed special projects for the Executive Deputy Commissioner at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and has experience working in public health departments, academic medical centers, consultancies and research thinks tanks, in New York City and internationally.

Christina Mainero is Principal, Pharmacy Services Strategy & Innovation for Blue Shield of California's Pharmacy Care Reimagined program. Previously, she worked with the Illumination Foundation, a non-profit working to break the cycle of homelessness; Deloitte Consulting; the Yale Emerging Infections Program; CAMA, a boutique health design firm; and Kaiser Permanente. Prior to joining Blue Shield, she co-led the Care Transformation program for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California and was on the faculty of KP’s Advanced Human-Centered Design Program. Christina is a mentor for Yale’s TSAI CITY where she has coached three female-led teams in the healthcare and social enterprise space. Christina has been invited to speak at the Hive at the Claremont Colleges, Texas Tech, Parsons School of Design, and for the Yale Design and Innovation club. Christina takes satire writing classes with The Second City and doggedly pursues her self-imposed Goodreads Reading Challenge goals each year. She loves pineapple, spicy peppers, and hiking with her husband and her 2 pandemic rescue dogs, Finn & Henry.

Gerald  McNair '74 M.P.H., Gerald McNair Insurance Agency, Retirement Specialist. Gerald McNair Insurance Agency is an independent insurance agency specializing in Medicare Insurance Solutions. We work with dozens of insurance companies, so we can offer our clients appropriate coverage for them. Our clients are located all across North Carolina, giving us a great feel for the insurance landscape. We design plans with a focus on low costs, and proper benefit structure, which we combine with personalized insurance advice aimed at helping our clients make better-informed decisions.

Tim Mercer is the the inaugural holder of the JP’s Peace, Love & Happiness Family Foundation Endowed Chair in the Department of Population Health. He is also a primary care physician for the Health Care for the Homeless program with CommUnityCare, Austin’s largest federally qualified health center.Fundamentally, he is interested in solving health system challenges and promoting health through community-engaged scholarship and service to improve access, quality and equity in health for vulnerable populations globally and locally. In addition to his clinical practice, teaching and mentoring, he implements and evaluates health system and community-based programs and conducts implementation research. He has raised over $10 million in federal, corporate, foundation and philanthropic funding, serving as project director or principal investigator of multiple projects and partnerships to achieve these goals.At Dell Med, Mercer leads the global health program, which aims to leverage the academic missions of service, education and research to improve health and advance health equity for vulnerable populations globally, while building interdisciplinary collaborations to address social and structural determinants of health, strengthen health systems and cultivate globally minded leaders. Under his leadership, Dell Med has joined the Academic Model Providing Access to Health Care (AMPATH) Consortium in Eldoret, Kenya. AMPATH is one of the world’s most successful academic global health programs, a 30-year-long academic partnership between Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, Moi University School of Medicine in Kenya and a consortium of North American academic medical centers led by Indiana University. Mercer also leads The University of Texas at Austin in the first replication effort of the AMPATH paradigm in partnership with Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) and the Mexican Ministry of Health to strengthen primary health care and address chronic diseases in low-income, rural communities in the State of Puebla, Mexico, and generate shared lessons for improving the health of populations on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border.Locally, he leads a variety of efforts to enhance access to care and improve health outcomes among individuals experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable populations. To this end, he is the director of the Mobile Medical and Mental Health Care Team, or M3 Team, which is an innovative, mobile, integrated care team that focuses on individuals with chronic homelessness and tri-morbid serious mental illnesses, substance use disorders and chronic medical conditions. He is also the co-principal investigator of a project using implementation science to scale up treatment for Hepatitis C among people experiencing homelessness. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, he has worked with a broad community coalition to lead a robust and effective response to address and prevent COVID-19 among individuals experiencing homelessness. More recently, he leads efforts at Dell Med alongside community health workers to increase access to COVID vaccinations for vulnerable populations, address social determinants of health and increase access to primary care. Originally from Canada, Mercer moved to the U.S. at a young age and was raised in a small town in northeast Indiana. He went on to study biology and philosophy at Butler University and received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He earned a master’s degree in public health with a focus in social and behavioral sciences from the Yale School of Public Health and then completed a combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency at Duke University Medical Center. Following his training, and prior to joining the faculty at Dell Med, he served for two years as the medicine team leader for AMPATH, holding joint faculty positions in the departments of medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine and Moi University School of Medicine in Kenya. He is an active participant in the Consortium of Universities for Global Health, the National Health Care for the Homeless Council, the Society of General Internal Medicine and the Association of Chiefs and Leaders in General Internal Medicine — of which the latter he was selected as a scholar in the 2021-2022 cohort of the LEAD leadership development program. He also serves on the Austin Travis County EMS Advisory Board. He has won several teaching awards and has been recognized by Dell Med and the Travis County Medical Society for his community impact during the COVID-19 pandemic. He lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife and two children, and he is an avid runner who loves food and enjoys traveling across three continents to spend time with extended family.

Lynne Rosenwald-Bannister, '77 M.P.H., Supportive Housing Works, System Coordinator.  Lynne E. Bannister joined Supportive Housing WORKS after a long career in public health and social services in both the Connecticut and Boston, Massachusetts area. She is currently the system coordinator for the Social Innovation Fund grant which pairs supportive housing with improved health outcomes for very vulnerable men and women. Prior to joining the organization, Lynne was a consultant with The Sable Group, Inc., in Weston, CT focusing on issues of diversity, health disparities and access to health care. Lynne attended Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY and Windham College in Putney, VT where she received a B.A. in English Literature, she also earned an M.S. in Education from the University of Bridgeport, CT and an M.P.H. in Health Services Administration from Yale University in New Haven, CT. She has been an active board member of AYAPH since 1983 and has served as a member of the Diversity Committee, Secretary of the Emerging Majority Affairs Committee, Vice President and is presently the Treasurer for the Association. She is also a member of the Housatonic Community College Foundation and is a long-time tutor with Mercy Learning Center for Women in Bridgeport, CT.

Dashni  Sathasivam, '19 M.P.H., Health Equity Solutions, Program Manager. Dashni Sathasivam is compelled by the intersection of health policy and advocacy and believes engaging communities and amplifying the voices of those directly impacted by policies as central to achieving structural changes that advance health equity. Originally from Wisconsin, her role as the Latino Outreach Coordinator with the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center's Cancer Health Disparities Initiative and service as a City Year Milwaukee AmeriCorps Member informed her community-based participatory approach to health and partnership building. Dashni graduated with a Master’s in Public Health in health policy from the Yale School of Public Health (YSPH). In recognition of her commitment to social justice within YSPH and the wider New Haven community, she was awarded the inaugural YSPH Student Award for Outstanding Contributions in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Gender & Women's Studies and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Modupeore (Ore) Shenbanjo is a Consultant at GE Healthcare Partners where she focuses on hospital operations and health system transformation. Through her role, she collaborates with frontline staff, surgeons, cardiologists, directors and managers to improve the patient experience, staff and physician satisfaction.Prior to joining GE Healthcare Partners, Ore served as a Senior Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton. In this role, she collaborated with various clients to improve information sharing, communication, and collaboration across patient-care teams. She concurrently took on the role of project management lead for several efforts aimed at improving the quality of care delivered across the Military Health System.As part of her summer internship, Ore served as a Project Officer at the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust in the United Kingdom. Throughout her internship, Ore leveraged her analytic expertise to collaborate with the Director of Operations, Divisional Director of Surgery, and consulting physicians to assess and improve pathways for preoperative outcomes.Ore has also accrued experience in the healthcare setting through her role as an HIV test counselor and her work in Adolescent Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Across Ore’s former roles, she has cultivated a passion for using mentorship and educational instruction to improve departmental communications, department culture, clinical operations, and, ultimately the patient experience.Ore holds a Master of Public Health degree from the Yale School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from Case Western Reserve University.

Robert  Steele,  '71 M.P.H., '74 M.S., '75 Ph.D., recently retired Director of the Office for Diversity Initiatives at the Graduate School of the University of Maryland. From 2004 until June 2012 Steele served as the Executive Director of the David C. Driskell Center for the Study of the Visual Arts and Culture of African Americans and the African Diaspora at the University of Maryland, College Park. Under Dr. Steele’s leadership, the Center became nationally known in the field of African American Visual Arts. Prior to that, he held several positions at University of Maryland, College Park including Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology and Associate Dean of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences.  Steele has written and contributed to several publications in the field of African American Art, including several entries in the St. James Guide to Black Artists. In addition, Dr. Steele has a number of advisory and board memberships, such as the Governing Board of the Yale University Gallery of Art, the Board of Directors of the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta and the Founder of the National Black Arts Festival’s Collectors Guild, the Advisory Committee of the Experimental Printmaking Institute at Lafayette College, the Advisory Board of Brodsky Center for Innovative Print and Paper at Rutgers University and the Board of Director of Brandywine Workshop in Philadelphia. Steele is also a member of the Collectors Club of Washington, D.C., Inc. and the New York Print Club.  At Yale, Steele endowed the Robert E. & Jean E. Steele Scholarship Fund. He also helped to establish the Creed/Patton/Steele Endowed Scholarship for minority students at the School of Public Health. His Yale service includes membership on the Board of Governors of the Association of Yale Alumni and the former presidency of the Association of Yale Alumni in Public Health. He is currently spearheading efforts to raise funds for an internship at the Yale University Art Gallery. Steele was awarded the Yale Medal in November of 2012.

Dillon was born, raised, and currently resides in California's East Bay. His work with University of California’s Nutrition Policy Institute galvanized him to pursue YSPH’s MPH with a focus on Health Policy. During his first year at Yale, Dillon served as YSPH's Graduate & Professional Student Senate (GPSS) representative and founded the Asian Graduate Network, an affiliate organization of the Asian American Cultural Center. By his second year, he was elected into the role of GPSS Vice President and served on two university-wide Student Advisory Committees. He currently volunteers as a Yale Alumni Schools Committee alumni interviewer and as a Ministry Fellow to the Christian Fellowship UCW. In his free time, Dillon enjoys bouldering, hiking, camping, and drinking boba.

Nicholas Torsiello, '06 M.P.H., '14 Ph.D., EHE, Senior Analyst.  Nick has been in the health care and analytics spaces for 14 years. He joined EHE in 2017 as Director of Analytics to help optimize internal and external data measurement, collection, and utilization.  His previous experience includes working on health industry teams at the consultancies of McKinsey & Company, Willis Towers Watson, Booz Allen Hamilton, and The Advisory Board Company.  There he served both private and public-sector clients – Medicaid, Medicare, NIH, and the VA system – on issues such as: provider reimbursement innovation (episode-based or value-based payments); clinical and information technology assessment, operations, and strategy; and self-insured employee benefits design and improvement.  Nick earned a doctorate in health policy and economics from Yale University, where he earlier had completed a MPH in health care management.  His undergraduate studies were in applied economics and business management at Cornell University.

Sarah Vidal, '00 M.P.H., Sherwin B. Nuland Foundation for Palliative Care, Executive Director.  Sarah Vidal is an experienced healthcare executive. She has worked for 20+ years in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors with focus in strategy, analytics and marketing.

Alicia J. Whittington, PhD, MPH, is a research scientist and assistant director of engagement and health equity research for the Football Players Health Study at Harvard Medical School. She is also the co-lead of a new research initiative, Family Experiences Managing Football Lives, also known as FEM-FL. Alicia is an experienced healthcare consultant and has several years of research experience, including her role as project director of the Longevity Consortium at the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute in San Francisco. She attended Wellesley College and created her own public health major, focusing on women’s health and biological sciences. After college, she conducted research at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She earned a Master of Public Health in chronic disease epidemiology from Yale University.Alicia earned a Doctor of Philosophy in health systems management from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She focused on health disparities, health outcomes, and sports injuries research. She completed her dissertation research on “Concussion Education and Perceptions of Injury Risk among High School Football Players” and graduated with honors. In addition to playing the violin, she enjoys reading, writing, crafting, photography, traveling, serving on multiple boards, mentoring youth, and learning something new every day.

Setareh A. Williams, PhD, CMPP is the Managing Partner, Head of Real-World Evidence (RWE) and Scientific Communications at Cobbs Creek Healthcare, LLC (CCHC). She has over 20 years of US and global experience in strategic planning, product launch, medical affairs, research and analytics, and scientific communication. She has a proven track record of achievement and delivery of evidence to support multiple product launches and in-line brands at large companies and start-ups across joint-venture and alliance collaborations. Setareh earned her PhD in Chronic Disease Epidemiology from Yale University and her BS in Biological Sciences and French Literature from University of California at Los Angeles. Prior to joining CCHC, Setareh worked at Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Novartis and Radius Health, Inc. She has published extensively in epidemiology, outcomes research, patient experience, adherence, and comparative effectiveness. In her free time Setareh enjoys spending time with her four children hiking, biking and skiing and fosters rescued dogs.

Born and raised in Shanghai, China, I came to the United States at the age of nineteen and attended Vanderbilt University, where I majored in Biomedical Engineering. In my spare time, I enjoy learning different languages and traditional Chinese art forms, such as Beijing Opera and crosstalk. Fun fact about me: I joined the marching band in my college with no prior knowledge of football. It was a wild experience but a lot of fun!

Rebecca is an impact-driven public health professional working at the nexus of artificial intelligence, digital technology, and global health. She has spent the last decade building strategic partnerships and programs with non-profits, governments, companies, and foundations to advance healthcare across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Rebecca currently serves as Strategist for AI, Data, and Digital Health at the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, a philanthropy committed to bridging the frontiers of artificial intelligence, data science, and social impact. Her prior work includes advising on digital ID for COVID-19 vaccination and testing, leading a $3M+ portfolio of AI and digital ID projects, and supporting the launch of government partnerships to fund and advance early stage technology in global health. Rebecca holds a Masters in Health Policy and Global Health from the Yale School of Public Health and a BA in Political Science from Yale University. She is a Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations, a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, and was previously selected as a Forbes Ignite Impact Fellow, AI XPRIZE Semi-Finalist, and Gavi INFUSE Pacesetter.

Avery received her B.S. from Christopher Newport University in 2021, where she studied Environmental Biology, Business Administration, and Leadership Studies. She then joined the YSPH Environmental Health Sciences department and earned her M.P.H. in 2023. Following graduation, she began her career with Roux, an environmental consulting firm, working as a health scientist on their human health risk assessment team. Outside of school and work, Avery enjoys being engaged in her local community, teaching fitness classes, and spending time in nature, and she is excited to serve as an AYA representative.

David D’Atri, PhD ’74, MPH ’73 is a previous past-president of AYAPH and currently resides in Guilford, Connecticut.

Dr. Degutis, a native of Chicago, received her Bachelor of Science degree from DePaul University, and her MSN and DrPH from Yale University. She is a consultant in injury and violence prevention and policy, public health preparedness, and public health policy. Some of her current work focuses on suicide prevention in veterans, and firearm violence prevention, as well as public health practice. She is former Executive Director of Defense Health Horizons, a program of the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, based at the Uniformed Services University. In addition, she was the Chief Science Officer for The Avielle Foundation. She chaired the Board of the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation (PIRE), is past president of the Society for the Advancement of Violence and Injury Research (SAVIR), and a member of the Advisory Board of the College of Science and Health of DePaul University. She currently chairs the board of the Stop Abuse Campaign. Previously, she was the Director of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control at the CDC. At Yale, she was Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Public Health and was the Director and Co-PI of the Yale Center for Public Health Preparedness, which designed and implemented education in disaster preparedness, response and recovery. She served as a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow in the Office of the late Senator Paul Wellstone (D-MN). She is a Past President of the American Public Health Association (APHA), the oldest and largest public health association in the world. Dr. Degutis, a member of the National Academy of Medicine, received a the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellowship Alumni, has received the Distinguished Career and Public Service Awards from the Injury Control and Emergency Health Services Section of APHA, and was named an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health. Her work has focused on public health policy, injury and violence, gun violence prevention, suicide prevention substance abuse and policy, as well as disaster preparedness and mitigation.
